Aaron Carter wants to sweep Hilary Duff off her feet.
The former chart topper still has feelings for his former flame, even though they broke up over a decade ago. They haven’t spoken to each other for years, but Aaron would like to see her again.
“Absolutely, I don’t know who she is today, she doesn’t know who I am today but I would sweep her off her feet if I ever got a chance to again and fix what I did wrong,” he said, when ET asked if he still loves Hilary.
Aaron caused a stir by making romantic statements about Hilary on his Twitter account just last month. He made the remarks shortly after she confirmed she was splitting from her husband Mike Comrie.
“I’ll spend the rest of my life trying to better myself to get back to her. I don’t care what any of you think,” Aaron wrote on Twitter. “Don’t be that stupid douche that loses the love of your life forever, like me.”
The two dated back in 2000, when they were just 13 years old, and at the prime of his popularity and career.
When Hilary and Mike confirmed their break-up they insisted they would stay friends for the sake of their two-year-old son Luca. They have been seen together on many occasions since then, sparking speculation they may have reconciled. Most recently they were seen looking close at the Coachella music festival in California.
Neither has discussed why they separated, although it’s been claimed things weren’t good for a while.
“There was no major incident – no big event between the two of them. They really did drift apart. They have put effort and thought into this decision for a long time. They tried couples therapy, but in the end, they realised at this time, they work better as friends. And they really are great friend,” an insider previously said.
