Zac Efron supposedly followed Rita Ora around “like a lovesick puppy” Sunday night.
The pair made a famous flirty exchange onstage at the MTV Movie Awards, as the stunning British singer removed his button-up after he accepted a trophy for Best Shirtless Performance.
And apparently Zac was enamoured by Rita from the moment he saw her backstage.
“There was a lot of chemistry between the two and Zac seemed really taken with Rita – following her around like a lovesick puppy,” a source told UK newspaper The Mirror.
Rita is thought to be in a relationship with Scottish EDM producer Calvin Harris, but although the pair were both in California over the weekend, they apparently didn’t connect.
While the songstress shared sexy sparks with Zac at the MTV Movie Awards, Calvin was performing 100 miles away from Los Angeles in the desert at Coachella.
But it seems as if Calvin didn’t mind being away from his girlfriend, as there were plenty of beautiful women at the music festival to keep his mind occupied.
“Yoooo height difference is incredible @jheneaiko great to meet you!” he wrote to up-and-coming singer Jhene Aiko on his Instagram account Sunday.
The distance between Rita and Calvin over the weekend have sparked fresh rumours the couple are on the rocks.
This isn’t the first time similar speculation has arisen this year, as insiders claimed they took a break from their romance in January.
“Rita and Calvin have split,” a source told British newspaper The Sun at the time.
“It’s been tough for both of them but it’s been even harder for them to spend time together recently.
“He’s busy DJing and she’s working on her new album and shooting 50 Shades Of Grey.”
