Peaches Geldof's body was discovered with her 11-month-old son next to her, it has been reported.
The 25-year-old was found dead at her home in Wrotham, Kent, on Monday. An autopsy has taken place but proved inconclusive, with toxicology tests expected within a couple of weeks.
More details of the TV star-and-journalist's final hours have been detailed, with British newspaper The Sun claiming Peaches' son Phaedra was with her when she passed away. The star also has 23-year-old son Astala with her husband Thomas Cohen, who was looking after the toddler away from the home.
"The hope is that Phaedra is so young he wasn’t aware of what was going on. The most important thing is that he’s OK," an insider told the publication.
It was reportedly Thomas who raised the alarm after he tried and failed to get in touch with Peaches. A friend went round to check on the star, after which emergency services were summoned and the star's body was discovered.
"It is devastating for Tom that he wasn’t there but it couldn’t have been avoided," the source added.
Peaches was a believer in attachment parenting, which sees mothers and fathers form an incredibly close bond with their children as they are with them almost all the time.
"Phaedra was by her side most of the time, even when she was sleeping. At the very least, there can be some comfort that she wasn’t by herself when she died," the source said.
The circumstances of the star's death echo those of her mother Paula Yates, who died of an accidental heroin overdose when Peaches was 11. Paula's body was discovered with her then four-year-old daughter Tiger - whose father is Michael Hutchence - by her side.
Peaches death is still being treated as "sudden and unexplained" by police, with her body released to her family yesterday meaning funeral arrangements can now be made.
Yesterday, her father Sir Bob Geldof was seen at her five-bedroom property. Thomas' parents were also there and Bob and the singer's father Keith spoke together in the garden, with Bob later removing some of his late daughter's things from the property.
Bob released an emotional statement once news of Peaches' passing was made public, admitting he was destroyed by her death.
Yesterday, Peaches' former nanny Anita Debney spoke of her devastation at the star's death. Anita looked after the star when she was a toddler and became like a second mother to her.
"She has been the greatest joy, the greatest blessing, the most tender part of my heart and soul," she told British newspaper The Mirror. "I loved her through the good times and the bad. We struggled and survived the darkest of times.
"She overcame so much and my love and appreciation of her indomitable spirit never wavered."
