Chris Martin exuded confidence at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony.

The Coldplay musician made his first major public appearance at Thursday’s New York City event since announcing his split from spouse Gwyneth Paltrow weeks ago.

While presenting Genesis star Peter Gabriel onstage, he was clearly not wearing his wedding ring, however, he appeared to be in high spirits.

“Chris introduced Peter Gabriel at the 29th Annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame—he seemed upbeat and happy and read a fake passage from the ‘genesis’ portion of the bible. It was actually quite funny,” an eyewitness told In Touch magazine.

“The crowd loved Chris. They laughed at his jokes and he smiled a bunch.”

Apparently the Hurts Like Heaven singer was impressive throughout the ceremony, and didn’t appear broken up over his separation in the slightest.

“Chris looked awesome—tan, equally confident and approachable,” the onlooker noted.

“He didn’t seem to be in the midst of such a scandal!”

Gwyneth, 41, seems to be taking a decidedly different approach from Chris when it comes to wearing her wedding ring.

She posted a picture on her Twitter account Tuesday, and in the image she was donning her marital band on the left ring finger.

“Moses Bruce Paltrow Martin turns 8 today. We love you!” she wrote in the post.

The rock musician and his wife announced their decision to “consciously uncouple” last month after 10 years of marriage.

The former couple made it clear they remain firm friends in the wake of their breakup. Along with their two children Apple, nine, and Moses, eight, the pair flew to the island of Eleuthera in the Bahamas the day before announcing their separation, in order to avoid any public fallout from the news.
