Courtney Love is sick of people questioning her feud with Dave Grohl.
Tomorrow sees Nirvana inducted into the The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, an event that will force Courtney to spend time with former Nirvana drummer Dave and bass player Krist Novoselic, who she isn't on good terms with.
She'll be there in absence of Nirvana frontman and her former husband, Kurt Cobain, who committed suicide in 1994. She'll be joined by their daughter Frances, but isn't exactly looking forward to sharing the stage with the rest of the band.
"The conciliatory thing... it's 20 years since the guy died. And I am so sick of decisions [where] somebody has to think about, 'Oh, shall we have Courtney on at this festival, does she have a problem with Dave?'" Courtney fumed to British magazine NME.
Despite her annoyance at certain situations, 49-year-old Courtney was at first hesitant to attend the event that will take place at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.
"But then Peter Mensch [music manager] said that's just what wives and kids do. And Billie Joe [Armstrong, Green Day] says to me, that's handing Krist and Dave the whole story, so that's rolling over in defeat. It's just like a deposition - everyone has a different version of events. My version is more accurate because I was there every single day of it," she sighed.
Kurt and Courtney's 21-year-old daughter has spoken out in the past over her mother's treatment of Dave, who now fronts mega band Foo Fighters.
The young star took it upon herself to visit Dave in private so she could form her own opinion of her father's former bandmate.
"Frances went to Dave's house and had dinner and made up her mind about him on her own. I'm not gonna speak for her, but basically... he's Dave. And that's not my problem; I'm not in his band and I don't have to deal with it. But Pat [Smear, Foo Fighters] and the Cobains have been really close. Pat's been really close to our family," she explained.
