Taylor Swift is reportedly single again after a “secret relationship” with Snapchat’s co-founder.
The 24-year-old had reportedly been dating billionaire Evan Spiegel since December after meeting at a tech-industry holiday party.
The singer and the 23-year-old CEO began dating behind closed doors, with Taylor believing he was the right man for her.
“Taylor thought Evan was the right one after she met him,” a source told the US edition of OK! magazine. “Evan is highly successful in his own right, and Taylor trusted that he wouldn’t be just after her money. She also loved that Evan wasn’t in the public eye as much as some of the men in her previous relationships.”
Taylor has dated a number of famous men over the years including Joe Jonas, John Mayer and One Direction star Harry Styles. The songstress has been very public about her relationships and subsequent break ups, penning songs about them including I Knew You Were Trouble. But this time, the star decided to take a more discreet approach, and was only spotted in public with Evan a couple of times.
“Taylor was frequenting Snapchat events where she and Evan tried to play off just being good friends,” explained the source. “They did a great job at keeping their relationship private. But they finally slipped up at Snapchat’s New Year’s Eve party, where they were busted kissing in the corner.”
However one thing Taylor couldn’t change was how easily she falls for the opposite sex. And it seems her eagerness to find love eventually drove Evan away and the couple have now split.
“Evan is a confident, successful businessman who wasn’t about to put up with Taylor’s neediness,” the source continued. “In the end, Taylor just couldn’t deal with the fact that she wasn’t a priority in his life.”
