Rihanna and Eminem will perform together at the MTV Movie Awards.

The Barbadian singer collaborated with the rapper on The Monster, which hit number one in countries including the US and the UK. Now it's been confirmed they will take to the stage together at the film event to entertain guests with the track.

Separately both stars have performed at the ceremony, with Eminem rapping at the 2009 awards, while Rihanna sang Umbrella in 2007.

The MTV Movie Awards will take place at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on April 13. It will be hosted by Conan O'Brien and streamed on MTV.

Rihanna, 26, and 41-year-old Eminem have worked together in the past, collaborating on Love The Way You Lie in 2010.

Eminem previously opened up about why he wanted Rihanna for The Monster.

"The perception of the record, what it's saying, I thought it would be a good idea to have her on it because I think people look at us like we're both a little nuts," he explained to MTV News. "That's one of the things that I was telling her in making the record, 'I think that people look at us a little crazy'.

"As soon as I got the beat I just heard her on it... I wanted to make sure that I had it finished first to be able to present to her, but once I had the rhymes done, I sent it to her."
