Blake Shelton joked he was either “ready or high” before hosting the Academy of Country Music Awards Sunday.

The Boys ‘Round Here hitmaker co-hosted the annual ceremony with pop country crooner Luke Bryan, and admitted shortly before curtain call the pair were getting up to some antics.

“I think @LukeBryanOnline and I are either ready or high....” Blake captioned a Twitter picture of the pair oddly smiling.

"Been sleeping good every morning. Can't today. To excited. Whew," Luke tweeted.

Luke and Blake famously faced off last year in the Entertainer of the Year category, an award which Luke took home.

But it seems the pair are getting on just fine this year, despite competing again for Male Vocalist of the Year, a category won this year by Jason Aldean.

Blake has shored up a fan base across multiple genres in recent years, after joining the judging panel of The Voice US.
He’s known for his frequent on-camera dust-ups with fellow judge Adam Levine, and joked last year that he doesn’t understand why the Maroon 5 singer isn’t constantly intoxicated like the rocker stereotype suggests he should be.
“I get frustrated with Adam because, to me, rock stars are supposed to be drunk all the time. But he’s very healthy,” Blake laughed told Men’s Journal. “He takes care of himself. And it drives me crazy, because I want him to be more like me. Drunk all the time.”

In addition to Blake’s tweet on Sunday, fans also got more of his humour at the ACMs, including a segment in which the star and co-host Luke tried to beat Oscar host Ellen DeGeneres' record for most retweeted selfie.
