Cher thinks she’s “quite plain” beneath her make-up and wigs.

The 67-year-old star is performing across the US and Canada on her Dressed To Kill tour.

But she's coming clean to fans, admitting the extravagant headdresses, glitz and glamour are all part of a magical illusion she's mastered over the years.

“I've a Perfect Face 4 MAKE-UP,WIGS, HATS! CHAMELEON W/Out Make-Up I'M QUITE PLAIN. I'M MASTER AT CREATING ILLUSION.LIKE MAGIC ITS AN ART,” she tweeted on Thursday (sic).

Cher is en route to her next concert, scheduled Friday in Washington DC.

The tour has not been without its hiccups, however, with the diva openly admitting things were a mess at her debut show in Phoenix last month.

Billboard reported at the time Cher was “sobbng” backstage, had forgotten the lyrics to two of her songs and was having wardrobe issues.

She shared some of the backstage drama with fans on Twitter.

“b4 Showtime I was being fitted 4 Costumes!Shoe man is punk,No Boots,Shoes! Learned New choreog.yesterday.New Wigs 2Nite! Killed ourselves,” the exasperated star wrote (sic).

It appears the crew has worked out many of the kinks, with Cher often turning to the micro-blog to publicly thank the people responsible for orchestrating the concerts.

"I WANT 2 THANK MY"ENTIRE" WORK CREW..& 'EVERYONE' INVOLVED WITH MY SHOW EVERYONE HAS GONE WAY BEYOND WHATS POSSIBLE THEY R THE BEST," she recently wrote (sic).

Cher has several concerts ahead. The star will continue hopping through the US and Canada before taking her final bow in San Diego, California on July 11.
