Vanessa Paradis relishes the quietness of long-haul flights.

The 41-year-old actress splits most of her time between her native Paris and Los Angeles, here her two children with ex-partner Johnny Depp, 15-year-old Lily-Rose and 12-year-old Jack, go to school.

While most might expect the star to dread flying across the Atlantic for hours, Vanessa actually enjoys kicking her feet up and unplugging all of her mobile devices.

“It’s OK – jetlag has no effect on me anymore!” she mused to The Edit.

“Twelve hours of no text, no emails, no nothing. You know, I have no place to complain – it’s a great life. And when it’s difficult, you try to make the best out of it.”

While she enjoys visiting America’s West Coast, Vanessa admits a piece of her always stays home in Paris.

The City of Lights is where she feels most alive.

“LA has really great opportunities for [my kids’] education. I prefer it there than here [in France]. But my heart belongs here. It’s here that I feel at home,” she explained.

“I like to see my friends. They’re not friends from school days, but I’ve had them for 20 years. Real friendship doesn’t go anywhere. We’ll have a good meal, all very simple. And I love to walk in the streets of Paris.”

Vanessa spoke to the magazine’s editor last year as well, and confessed then she was contemplating what she would say to her children should they want to follow in their parents’ footsteps.

While she wouldn’t change her past, the chanteuse said she’s unsure if a singing career is the right path for daughter Lily-Rose.

“I don’t regret the way it happened for me at all. If I had to do it again, I would do it exactly the same way. But I’m in a different position as a parent. And I’d rather that she learn a job and have time to be a kid,” she said, noting. “Later on… I mean, she already has such a spotlight on her just because of her parents.”
