Justin Bieber is reportedly close to finalising a plea deal that will see three of his Miami charges dropped.
The 20-year-old singer was charged with DUI, resisting arrest and driving without a license after he was stopped on suspicion of drag racing in the American city earlier this year. His trial is due to start on May 5, but it's been claimed his legal team are working hard to ensure a deal is brokered before then.
TMZ reports prosecutors are now considering dropping all three charges. Instead, it's claimed Justin will need to plead no contest to reckless driving.
Initially it was claimed police wanted the Canadian singer to commit to random drug testing, something he was said to be unwilling to do. The new report suggests that has now been tabled, although Justin would be placed on probation for one year. That would mean he would need to stay out of legal trouble for 12 months or risk further repercussions.
It's claimed the deal could be worked out within the next week.
Last month, it was suggested Justin's legal team were also negotiating a plea bargain in relation to another of his cases. He is accused of causing $20,000 of damage to his Calabasas, California, neighbour's home by pelting it with eggs.
This could result in a felony vandalism charge, although it's been suggested the singer's team is hoping he will be allowed to enter a no contest plea to a misdemeanour vandalism charge.
Justin is also facing legal issues in relation to allegations he ordered his bodyguard to assault a photographer.
