Solange Knowles thinks “motherhood is an evolving journey”.
The 27-year-old singer-turned-fashionista shares son Daniel ‘Julez’, nine, with her former husband.
Solange is grateful for the experience of being a parent, as she welcomes the rapid changes in perspective that come with caring for a child.
“Motherhood is such an evolving journey,” she told E! News.
"You really have to shape and mold your morals and values around that personality that has come into itself.”
Solange is often deeply moved by her child’s ability to express himself with no restriction.
Watching Daniel grow has spurred on her own personal development in enriching ways.
“Seeing that conviction and honesty with everything he does absolutely has made me a better person,” Solange said.
The star has landed a gorgeous cover on Essence magazine’s May 2014 issue, which is due for release later this month.
Solange, who is considered by many to be a style icon, previously revealed how her young son helps her select outfits.
"I let [Julez] pick my shoes every once in a while - along with my boyfriend," she told website Huffington Post previously. "If I'm going to an event, picking my shoes is always my problem. I'll put one on one foot and another style on the other and I'll let them vote. They're guys, so naturally they always go for the more boring, basic one."
