Jake Bugg is to release his latest EP, “Messed Up Kids” on 12th May on Virgin EMI.
Lead track “Messed Up Kids” is the fourth to be taken from his latest long player “Shangri La”. Produced by Rick Rubin at his studios in Malibu. It hit Number 3 in the UK charts and follows his Number 1 eponymously titled debut.
Three new tracks make up the rest of the EP, all taken from the Malibu sessions with Rubin. These are the energetic “A Change In The Air”, the brooding ”Strange Creatures” and the striking, rollicking “The Odds”.
One of the most exciting and unique artists to emerge out of the UK in years, in under three years he has gone from first on in pubs to selling out the Royal Albert Hall and playing to an astonishing ten thousand people at Nottingham Arena, his hometown. Jake will be playing the Reading/Leeds Festival later this year.
Jake picked up the Best New Act Award at the prestigious Q Awards in 2013, and has been nominated for an array of other awards, including two Brit Awards in consecutive years.
