Sharon Osbourne has reportedly ruled out any possibility of returning to the X Factor.

The Osbourne matriarch appeared as a judge on the show last year, and won with contestant Sam Bailey.

But according to Sharon, being back for just a year was more than enough.

“I cannot go there... I can’t,” she told UK newspaper The Sun.

While the 61-year-old isn’t going into detail about why she wouldn’t return, aides tell the outlet she can’t balance being a judge with her US daytime chat show The Talk, which she films four days a week.

Sharon appeared on the UK X Factor between 2004 and 2007, finally leaving due to tension between her and fellow judge Dannii Minogue.

Despite her reluctance to return to the reality singing competition, Sharon has nothing but warm support for Cheryl Cole, who is confirmed to take part.

“Cheryl is fantastic — she’ll be great for the show. She is always great back with Simon. She will do a great job,” Sharon said.

An X Factor insider told The Sun Sharon will definitely not be appearing on the show in 2014. Producers are apparently looking for a new face to complete the judging panel as neither Nicole Scherzinger or Gary Barlow are said to be returning.

“Last year was seen as Sharon’s last hurrah. She isn’t in consideration for this year’s show,” the insider said.

Simon and Cheryl are the only judges 100 per cent confirmed so far. There is one more seat left to round out the judging panel.
