Lewis Hamilton “hasn’t proposed” to Nicole Scherzinger.
Rumours emerged last week the singer and her on-again off-again boyfriend are ready to take the next step in their relationship.
But apparently the pair are not considering marriage just yet.
"He hasn't proposed," a source told Us Weekly. "They only just got back together at Christmas, so it's very much at a point of working things out still."
Nicole, 35, and Formula One racer Lewis, 29, have been dating on and off for over five years now. Their last big break up was in summer of 2013, from which they reconciled a few months later.
Nicole’s friend Jahmene Douglas spoke out at the time about how impossible it appeared for the former Pussycat Dolls star to stay away from Lewis.
“It’s funny when people ask me that,” Jahmene told UK newspaper The Mirror last August.
“I know that she is in love with Lewis. And I’ve been with her as a friend while she was with him and when they broke up. I am trying to be there for her because it is a tough time. It isn’t easy to switch off after spending five years in a relationship.”
Jahmene, who met Nicole through TV show the X Factor, went on to blame the distance for Nicole and Lewis’ constant breakups. She also insisted Nicole was in control of the situation.
“I think it was just obvious that the distance thing might have taken its toll,” the singer’s pal said.
“But she’s a strong woman and she’s not silly. She is very into her faith so she knows how to get through something and just needs the right friends around her.”
