Nicole Scherzinger and Lewis Hamilton are reportedly engaged.

The couple recently reconciled after ending their seven-year relationship last summer.

And according to UK newspaper The Mirror, the pair are now set to head down the aisle after Lewis popped the question.

A source told the Daily Star the Formula One racer asked his longtime love to be his bride at his mansion in Switzerland, where they will soon set up a home.

"Lewis will be the main breadwinner when Nicole is not working and she will always have access to his private jet if she needs to travel,” the insider said.

"It is the ideal plan for both of them and will hopefully lead to a big summer wedding in August when Lewis has a three-week break from his F1 schedule."

Lewis hinted they had taken the next step last week, when he described Nicole as his “wifey” in an Instagram snap of the pair smiling at the Sistine Chapel in Vatican City.

The Star reports Nicole had turned down Lewis’ proposal on three previous occasions.

Rumours surfaced long distance had caused a serious rift between them. However, Lewis and Nicole reportedly gave it another shot and rekindled their romance in November.

Lewis was reportedly spotted shopping for an engagement ring the following month and the couple are said to be eager to start a family.

“Now they hope spending more time together will lead to marriage and even having children,” a source told The Mirror earlier this month.

Spokespersons for the couple have yet to comment on the latest report.
