Taylor Swift has apparently "distanced" herself from Selena Gomez.
The 24-year-old Red singer has been close to former-Disney star Selena for some time, with the pair often leaning on one another to cope with boy troubles.
Spring Breakers actress Selena, 21, has had a notoriously difficult on/off relationship with bad boy Justin Bieber since 2010 and it is rumoured it was part of the reason she attended rehab for two weeks in January.
Despite calling things quits early last year, they've been spotted together this month and their reconciliation was confirmed when Justin posted a video of the pair dancing on Instagram.
Us Weekly reports things started cooling down when Selena reportedly enjoyed a brief flirtation with Taylor's pal Ed Sheeran to make 20-year-old Justin jealous.
It seems Taylor is unwilling to counsel Selena through the breakup should things not work out.
"After Selena pulled that move, Taylor started distancing herself," an insider told the website.
However, a friend of the blonde country singer claimed she "loves" Selena and would always be there for her should she really need it.
Justin has been in his fair share of trouble recently and attended a filmed deposition where he was questioned following allegations his bodyguard had beaten up a photographer on his behalf.
He was also arrested for DUI in Miami earlier this year and accused of pelting a neighbour's home with eggs, causing $20,000 of damage.
It's thought Taylor isn't the only one concerned about Selena's relationship with the singer.
"Selena has chosen Justin over her family in the past," a source told People magazine. "They are disappointed about that. Her father has told her he doesn't like her spending time with him."
Taylor has also been through her share of heartache in the past, dealing with high-profile breakups such as Harry Styles and Jake Gyllenhaal.
