Justin Bieber apparently believes his deposition tape was a "set up".

The 20-year-old popstar can be seen answering questions in connection to allegations his bodyguard beat up photographer Jeffrey Binion on his behalf in a video.

He appears angry throughout the questioning and was ridiculed online for some of the answers he gave, at one point stating he was "detrimental" to his own career, when he actually meant "instrumental".

Justin is also dismissive when asked about singer Usher, who helped launch his career after discovering the star on YouTube, claiming the name simply sounded "familiar".

Now it's been claimed his team are suspicious about the nature of the questioning.

“The video was leaked so quickly that Justin’s legal team believes it was all a setup. The questions Justin was being asked, including questions about Usher, had nothing to do with the case," a source told New York Post's Page Six.

“He was being harassed with extremely strange questions, and the chosen clips that were released, which show Justin to be frustrated, happened four and a half hours into the deposition.

“Justin’s team is considering making a request to the judge to order an audit to see if a payment was received by anybody on Binion’s side for the tape, which they believe is serious malpractice.”

Justin was also quizzed about his on/off girlfriend Selena Gomez, 21, who he has been dating sporadically since 2010.
The mention of her name really seemed to hit a nerve, causing the star to storm out of the deposition in Miami.

It's not the only legal incident Justin has been caught up in recently.

The Baby singer was accused of causing $20,000 of damage to a neighbour's home by apparently pelting it with eggs and was also arrested for DUI earlier this year.
