Spotify rolls out the red carpet this Oscars' weekend to reveal the most popular movie tracks from past 12 months.

The clips have rolled, the envelope's been opened and it's now time for Spotify to reveal the most popular songs from movie soundtracks over the past 12 months.

And the winners are:

Ed Sheeran's I See Fire, recorded specifically for soundtrack for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, was the most streamed over the past 12 months on Spotify. The track, which appears over the end credits, was written by Sheeran on the same day as first seeing the film.

Disney's Frozen is represented with two songs in the top ten, which reflects the soundtrack's huge success over the past few months. Both Let It Go and For the First Time in Forever, performed by Indina Menzel and Kristen Bell, appear in the most top ten streamed movie songs of the past 12 months.

The Great Gatsby soundtrack has also proved a hit with listeners this past year with Lana Del Rey's Young and Beautiful and Jay Z and Kanye West's No Church in the Wild appearing in the top ten.

Happy, the Pharrell Williams single used on the Despicable Me 2 soundtrack, cements its popularity by also appearing in the top ten as the second most streamed movie song, despite only being released towards the end of 2013.
