Robin Thicke is “trying to win back” his estranged wife Paula Patton.

The Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol actress announced she was separating from her musician husband on Monday.

TMZ photographers caught up with Robin when he arrived at a Washington D.C. airport, and during this interaction he revealed his desire to save the marriage.

“I'm just trying to get her back,” he told the outlet in a video clip published Thursday.

As the paparazzo asked him questions, Robin claimed he was committed to returning to work.

But the star admitted splitting from Paula had his head spinning.

“Just trying to figure it out man,” he told the photographer as he walked out of the airport to his chauffeured vehicle.

Just before he entered the car, he made it clear his raunchy performance with Miley Cyrus at last August’s MTV Video Music Awards had nothing to do with his marital strife.

“No,” he said when the paparazzo asked if this appearance led to the split.

The Blurred Lines singer married Paula, who he met when he was just 14, in 2005 and they share son Julian together.

According to TMZ, Paula, 38, initiated the split on Friday and Robin jumped straight on a plane to see her in Canada, despite being scheduled to perform.

And it is claimed while Robin is hopeful they can mend their union, Paula is adamant about calling it quits.

"She is done with the marriage, but he was definitely fighting to stay together until the last moment. It is still cordial between them, but they are now figuring things out," an insider told Us Weekly magazine previously.

"Robin wanted to save their marriage, but it was Paula's choice and she ended it. Robin does not want this divorce," another source added.
