John Mayer was pictured smiling Thursday in the wake of his alleged split from Katy Perry.
The couple called it quits this week after dating on and off since 2012, according to Us Weekly.
And the publication has now released a new image of John surfacing for the first time since the news broke.
The photo shows the 36-year-old cracking a smile while out and about in New York City. The singer was dressed down in jeans, boots and a zip-up jacket.
Katy and John reportedly shared news of their split on Wednesday.
Sources told Us it was a “mutual [and] extremely amicable” decision and they just decided "it was the right time” to part.
News of this recent breakup came as a surprise and amid rumours John had even proposed after Katy was seen wearing a sparkler on her wedding finger.
But apparently behind closed doors the relationship had been rocky. Sources said there were a lot of arguments between the pair as their schedules pulled them apart.
"She's stressed about the tour, they've been fighting. It is probably for the best, because she is going to be on tour for forever. Of course this happens all the time, I can't keep track anymore. But for now they are done,” a source told the outlet.
"Not sure how long it will last this time but yes, it is off for now."
Katy meanwhile does have something to celebrate.
The Fireworks hitmaker revealed on Wednesday a close friend had welcomed a baby – and she got to be a very big part of the process.
"Finally you can add 'helps delivers babies in living rooms' to my resume," she shared.
"It's been a miracle of a day...Auntie Katy aka Stylist Auntie."
