Kylie Minogue credits a self-help book with her success.

The 45-year-old singer is a big fan of Malcolm Gladwell’s 2005 tome Blink: The Power Of Thinking Without Thinking

And she tells UK newspaper The Sun the author’s words have prompted her to make some major changes in her life, including joining The Voice UK, and signing with Jay Z’s record label last year.

“Signing to Roc Nation was an epiphany — not to go with them, but to make a change,” Kylie explained. “I met with [Roc’s co-founder] Jay Brown and I happened to be reading a book called Blink: The Power Of Thinking Without Thinking at the time, which helped me decide in the first 60 seconds that I met him, ‘You’re the one, let’s do it’. ”

Kylie is now gearing up for the release of her 12th studio album.

She recently spoke to the outlet about “embracing the future”, even though working with new producers hasn’t been easy.

“I actually didn’t know where I was going or what the future held at the end of 2012,” she said last month.

“There’s been a lot of change, this album is about taking the plunge and embracing the future and not holding on to things from the past.

“It wasn’t the easiest road but signing with Roc Nation, spending a lot of time in America and [being a coach on TV talent show The Voice UK] gave me a challenge and I needed that to feel reinvigorated.”
