Niall Horan was supposedly in a “lift emergency” after the BRITs.

The 20-year-old One Direction star attended his record label’s afterparty at The Arts Club in London following Wednesday night’s BRIT Awards.

And it is claimed he found himself stuck in an elevator with seven other people for at least four minutes during the bash.

“Security were frantically trying to get the lift working again but the emergency alarm was down and it simply wouldn’t budge,” a source told UK newspaper The Mirror.

“Everyone was trapped and getting increasingly hot and bothered.”

Apparently Niall was getting incredibly flustered while waiting for help and someone in the lift with him attempted to capture his anxiety on video.

But the One Direction star’s minders purportedly wouldn’t allow footage of the panicked episode.

Ultimately the lift was repaired, and venue operators are said to have been completely ashamed the malfunction occurred.

“Once it was eventually moving again, the management were very apologetic,” the insider said.

“The lift was briefly closed down while repairs were made.”

The incident didn’t seem to have negatively impacted Niall for long.

The Irish heartthrob took to his Twitter account to thank the band’s admirers after the boys picked up two awards at the BRITs.

“What a night! you guys are f**kin incredible ! love you so much! (sic),” Niall posted to his 17.3 million followers.
