Vanessa Paradis supposedly suffered “hard” times following her split from Johnny Depp.
The French actress separated from The Lone Ranger star in 2012, and a source tells E! News she remains “hugely sad” about the end of their 14-year relationship.
But she is apparently moving on to greener pastures despite her persistent heartbreak.
"Of course the last two years have been hard, but Vanessa is a battler and she's never felt more happy in her career," an insider informed the outlet.
Vanessa is mother to Johnny’s two children, and the family resides in her native city, Paris, France.
It is rumoured she’s no longer interested in dating Americans, as she desires to settle down with a fellow countryman.
"She doesn't regret a moment of her life with Johnny but would love to meet up with a lovely Frenchman who will sweep her off her feet,” the source explained.
“[Paris is her] favourite place in the world [and she] wants to find love with a Frenchman.”#
Rumours are rife Johnny has recently become engaged to 27-year-old actress Amber Heard.
But Vanessa is purportedly “confident and looking to the future” despite her former flame’s blossoming new romance.
She released her sixth studio album Love Songs in May 2013, and according to the insider creating new music makes her “so happy”.
Vanessa has been romantically linked to other famous Americans in the past, including Lenny Kravitz.
