Lady Gaga was reportedly “nipped by an Asian jungle creature” this week.
The 27-year-old singer arrived at Hearst Castle in San Simeon, California on Monday to shoot a music video for her new single G.U.Y. (Girl Under You).
And according to Page Six, she had a bad experience with an exotic animal on set.
“The slow loris is the cutest creature on the planet, and Lady Gaga wanted to use it in one scene, but it nipped her,” a source told Page Six, noting the animal originates from Asian jungles.
“They put it back in its box and took it away in disgrace.”
The website reports an animal trainer brought a baby kangaroo and a goat to the shoot in addition to the loris.
But when Gaga asked to work with the goat, her request was denied by an official from the California State Parks Department.
“The State Parks guy said, ‘Absolutely not!’” the insider revealed.
Gaga was apparently cheery despite her run-ins with the animal kingdom on the day.
“She just laughed about it,” the source noted. “She was a good sport.”
Instead of using wild creatures, Gaga apparently chose to strike a pose on-screen with some of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast members, including Kim and Kyle Richards, Lisa Vanderpump, Yolanda Foster and Carlton Gebbia.
Hearst Castle is an American historical landmark, and Gaga has previously donated $250,000 to the Hearst Castle Preservation Foundation.
The 90,000 sq ft property was built for newspaper magnate William Randolph Hearst by famed architect Julia Morgan, who designed the eccentric estate between 1919 and 1947.
Anne Hearst, William’s granddaughter, believes Gaga’s creative vision was impressive.
“Even in my grandfather’s day, the castle never saw anything like this,” Anne told the publication. “It’s amazing how much this woman does.”
