Nicole Scherzinger has supposedly quit X Factor UK.

The 35-year-old former Pussycat Doll served as judge on the programme from 2006 to 2013.

And according to sources, she recently decided to leave the TV talent competition.

“It breaks her heart, but Nicole is sad not to be able to go back to the show this year,” a source told British newspaper The Sun.

Nicole was a panellist on seasons five, seven, nine and ten of the show, and it is claimed she was distraught over having to say goodbye.

But the songstress recently signed a record deal with Sony, and she reportedly wants to get her solo career on the move again.

“She has agonised over this decision for months,” the insider noted.

“She put her music career on hold last year but now she has to focus on her music.”

Apparently Nicole’s decision hasn’t generated any animosity from her X Factor colleagues.

The cast and crew supposedly wish her well.

“She will always be part of the X Factor family,” the source said.

The show’s creator, music mogul Simon Cowell, announced last Friday the X Factor USA is cancelled and he will be returning to the X Factor UK as a judge.

Both the British and American version of the shows have been suffering low ratings for quite some time.

It is thought Cheryl Cole will replace Nicole on the panel, but rumours are circulating Rita Ora is also a top choice for the job.
