Enrique Iglesias says his fan “climbed up a sea wall” to reach him.

The 38-year-old singer shares a waterfront mansion with his girlfriend Anna Kournikova in Miami, Florida.

And he recalls a recent incident with one of his devotees that literally left him breathless.

“She climbed up a sea wall and I woke up and saw her wandering around,” he told British newspaper The Mirror.

“I was like, ‘What is this?’ You can only get to my place by water and it can be dangerous.

"Security grabbed her and wanted to know if I would press charges but I would never do that.

“The first thing I did was go and see if she was OK. I went to the guard house and she was soaking wet – it was a cold day. I was shocked that she had taken the risk.”

Enrique and his former tennis player girlfriend Anna, 32, have been together since 2001.

His other half handled the situation with composure, and Enrique couldn’t be more proud of her.

“My girlfriend was nice enough to give her some clothes and we took her back to her hotel room and made sure she was OK,” he detailed.

"My girlfriend is very sweet when it comes down to things like that.

“I get girls coming up to me all the time but my girlfriend doesn’t mind. She’s very cool with that.”

It was rumoured Enrique and Anna split in October of last year, but it seems the couple are still going strong.

He believes they have found a pretty reliable approach to keeping their love affair alive after spending 13 years together.

“Love and sex are crucial in making a relationship survive,” Enrique said.

“People think it’s either sex or love which is crucial in making a relationship survive but I think they are both very important.”
