Editors return to live action in the UK with two gigs in London on 18th and 19th March. The shows at London’s Roundhouse coincide with the release of a new single, ‘Sugar’, taken from the band’s fourth album, ‘The Weight Of Your Love’. Tickets for the first night are now sold out but a limited amount of tickets are still available for the second night.
On its release in July of last year, ‘The Weight Of Your Love’ was the band’s most globally successful album to date, racking up Top Ten placings across Europe, (including a fourth consecutive Top Ten in the UK). The band spent much of year from June on the road, headlining Werchter Festival in Belgium and Lowlands in Holland amongst a list of dates that spanned three continents and over one hundred venues and festivals.
Joining the band for the final night of this extensive jaunt around the globe, Q magazine noted the band’s status as an international success story in a four star live review and suggested that more acclaim was deserved for ‘the sort of emotional, eloquent rock music that does really deserve to be feted more widely’ adding that ‘the newer songs confirm Editors as a still living, breathing force’.
In addition to the London shows the band play further dates in mainland Europe throughout February and March.
‘Sugar’ is released as a digital download on 24th March. ‘The Weight Of Your Love’ is available now.
