Justin Bieber reportedly spent Saturday hunting for somewhere to be baptised in New York City.

The 19-year-old singer has made no secret of his Christian faith and thanked God in his first tweet following his DUI arrest in Miami last month.

Over the weekend he apparently wanted to reaffirm his faith and so looked for a property with a pool where he could undergo the christening with the Hillsong Church NYC.

"Justin and his team spent time on Saturday searching for a place with a pool where they could conduct a baptism for him, a cleansing ritual, with the Hillsong Church. But they couldn’t find a place in time," an insider told New York Post.

Last week Justin had to hand himself in to Canadian police following allegations he assaulted a limousine driver. He faces charges of drunken driving, resisting arrest and driving on an expired license following his Miami arrest and is expected to appear in court on Valentine's Day. He also recently settled another case involving a bodyguard who claimed assault.

On top of these allegations, the star is suspected of causing $20,000 of damage to his Calabasas neighbour's home by throwing eggs at it and has been pictured cavorting with strippers.

The teenager apparently decided to take some time out from his whirlwind life to reconsider what is really important on Saturday.

"Justin is serious about his Christian faith, and after recent events, he needed to take a pause," the source explained.

It's not the first time the young star has been linked to the Hillsong Church NYC. Last year he tweeted about how impressed he was having been to a service held by its leader Pastor Carl Lentz.

"Amazing sermon at church this morning. Love you man. I broke down today (sic)," he wrote.

The star's representative hasn't commented on the report.
