Miley Cyrus doesn't "give a sh*t" about being politically correct.

The 21-year-old singer's raunchy antics have caused a media storm over the last few months. Her sexual dancing and love of skimpy clothes has been slammed by some, while others have taken issue with her backing dancers and claimed she is exploiting minorities.

"I don't give a sh*t," she fumed to W magazine. "I'm not Disney, where they have, like, an Asian girl, a black girl, and a white girl, to be politically correct, and, like, everyone has bright coloured T-shirts. You know, it's like, I'm not making any kind of statement. Anyone that hates on you is below you, because they're just jealous of what you have."

Former Disney star Miley will doubtless raise a few eyebrows thanks to the naked image of her used on the cover of the publication's March 'Social Media' issue. She has a sheet covering her modesty and sports bleached eyebrows in the shot.

The star has no intention of toning down her sexed up image any time soon and actually hopes it prompts others to experiment more.

"I just don't get what half the girls are wearing. Everyone to me seems like Vanna White [US TV presenter]. I'm trying to tell girls, like, 'F**k that. You don't have to wear make-up. You don't have to have long blonde hair and big t**ties. That's not what it's about. It's, like, personal style.' I like that I'm associated with sexuality and the kind of punk-rock sh*t where we just don't care," she said.

"Like Madonna or Blondie or Joan Jett - Jett's the one that I still get a little shaky around. She did what I did in such a crazier way. I mean, girls then weren't supposed to wear leather pants and, like, f**king rock out. And she did."

Miley split from her fiancé Liam Hemsworth last year and although she's been linked to some guys, such as Kellan Lutz, since she is adamant she's single. The young star is happy being on her own and concentrating on her career.

"That's why I'm, like, not trying to jump into a relationship... I love my music so much, and I love what I'm doing so much that that has become my other half - rather than another person. And so, yeah, I feel like I had to be able to be 100 per cent," she said.

The star also touched on her home life. Her father is country musician Billy Ray Cyrus and his relationship with her mom Tish has been rocky, with the pair splitting several times. Last year Tish filed for divorce but there are rumours the pair are still working on their marriage.

Despite the ups and downs, Miley looks back on her childhood with fondness.

"I never had, like, a nanny that took care of me. My mom always fed me breakfast, lunch, and dinner. My dad, like, he's the most trusting human in the world. He trusts everybody, basically, until they f**k him over. And my mom, too, holds no grudges. She'll let someone, like, f**k her over twice, and then she'll let it go, and then she kind of forgets about it. And I used to be like that. And now I just keep it in the back of my mind," she explained.
