Bruno Mars’ “microphone turns into a popsicle” at Super Bowl rehearsal.

The native Hawaiian will be headlining the annual halftime show on Sunday and he has been practicing for the performance in the state of New Jersey.

Bruno confesses rehearsing is not so easy this time round, as the frigid winter temperatures can be simply unbearable.

"The microphone turns into a popsicle and all these things you don't really think about going into it," he told MTV News.

Bruno invited iconic rock band the Red Hot Chili Peppers to perform with him at the halftime show.

He is elated to be working with the group, as he has always loved their music.

"I've been a fan of theirs for such a long time, I admire their career," he explained.

"They're a soulful band and not just musically, but as people ... It's an honour to be sharing a stage with them. They're one of my personal favourite bands of all time."

The Seattle Seahawks will be facing the Denver Broncos at the big game.

And Bruno knows exactly who he’ll be rooting for when the opponents face each other.

"In Hawaii, it's whoever has the most Polynesians on their team, that's who we're rooting for," he said.

Super Bowl XLVIII is taking place at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on Sunday February 2.
