Selena Gomez supposedly “isn’t in the frame of mind” for love.
The 21-year-old singer’s good friend Austin Mahone recently dismissed rumours they were dating.
Sources claim Selena’s gal pal Taylor Swift has been trying to pair her with Austin for a while, but to no avail.
“You can’t force something that will not work. They are both attractive and young and Taylor tried to make things happen but they are ultimately just friends,” a source told HollywoodLife.com.
“Selena isn’t in the frame of mind to handle a relationship right now — she is still wrapped around her love for Justin [Bieber] and that is really throwing her emotions all over the place.
“She can’t really focus on a relationship with anyone else when her relationship with Justin, the one she wants, is so damaged.”
Justin has recently been charged with assault in Toronto, and for three other offences in Miami after allegedly drag racing while under the influence.
In the midst of the drama, he took gorgeous model Chantel Jeffries on a brief holiday to Panama with him.
This is said to have upset Selena tremendously, but she apparently won’t allow Justin to catch wind of her true feelings.
“She’s making a huge effort to get out and show Justin and the world that she’s fine,” another insider revealed to the outlet.
Selena and Justin officially broke up in November 2012, but speculation they rekindled their romance arose in early January. The former flames posted pictures of themselves cuddling together online and they were also photographed riding Segways outside Justin’s Calabasas, California estate.
