Billy Ray Cyrus has invited Justin Bieber to "chill out" with him.

The 52-year-old musician and father of Miley Cyrus has reached out to the troubled singer after his run-in with the police

Justin was arrested for driving under the influence after cops caught him drag racing on city streets in Miami last Thursday.

He was released from jail on a $2,500 bond.

When quizzed on any advice he has for the teenager, Billy openly suggested the pair hang out.

"A lot of people do ask me for parenting advice. So I would say, first of all, hey, I'm sure he's got lots of people talking to him right now. I would just invite him to come down and chill out with me, maybe in Tennessee," he told Access Hollywood.

"Let's go up to the tepee, build a fire, step away and just, you know, maybe take a break for a little bit, just think about what's important. Get back to life... Build a fire, count the deer and the hawks and relax a little bit."

Miley is a close pal of Justin's and the pair have made their friendship clear over the years.

In addition to sharing words of wisdom, Billy also praised the Baby singer's talents, adding that he hopes he will continue his popstar career.

"He's got a long life ahead of him and I'd like to see him just kind of maybe, enjoy a little bit of what he's got and focus back on the music," Billy sighed. "He's a great artist."

Justin is currently holidaying in Panama with his rumoured love interest, model Chantel Jeffries.
