Justin Bieber's new gal pal has reportedly been shopping her story to tabloids.

The 19-year-old pop star has been spending time with Chantel Jeffries lately, posting photos of himself with the little-known model in Miami before whisking her off to Panama after his DUI arrest.

But PageSix reports Chantel has ulterior motives and has been pitching gossip magazines stories of her time with the singer in hopes for a $20,000 payday.

"Multiple sources" apparently told the gossip column's editors Chantel "reached out to the weekly magazines and to producers of shows" including Good Morning America, Today and Inside Edition to discuss her night with Justin, which ended in his arrest.

"She hired an attorney and was negotiating a deal with the weekly magazines and the big TV shows. She wanted $20,000 plus a guaranteed mention of her modeling career," a source said.

PageSix claims all has not gone as planned, however. Chantel "abruptly" pulled out of television interviews after her weekend trip with the Baby hitmaker, according to the report.

The switch appears to have stemmed from a lack of willingness from the outlets to cough up the money.

"Chantel was talking to all the networks, but they refused to pay her. [Monday] she abruptly pulled out of all the discussions," a source said.

Justin was arrested for driving under the influence after cops caught him drag racing on city streets in Miami last Thursday.

He was released from jail on a $2,500 bond.

The singer is also charged with resisting arrest without violence and driving on an expired licence.

CBS Miami reports he is expected to appear in court on Monday.

A spokesperson for the star has not commented on the latest claims.
