Jennifer Lopez admits she likes “a bit of chaos in a relationship”.
The singer-and-actress has been dating her former backing dancer Casper Smart since October 2011.
And Jennifer revealed during an interview with UK Glamour magazine what keeps their relationship exciting.
“Without the spark that conflict brings, life would be so boring,” she explained to the publication. “I want a bit of chaos in a relationship, but I also want a bit of safety and order."
The 44-year-old has been married three times in the past, to Cuban waiter Ojani Noa from 1997 to 1998 before marrying another backing dancer, Cris Judd, in September 2001.
Their union only lasted nine months before they divorced and then the star’s third marriage was to fellow singer Marc Anthony from 2004 until 2011.
In between marriages, Jennifer has also had high profile relationships with record producer Sean ‘P. Diddy’ Combs and A-list actor Ben Affleck.
And the On The Floor singer revealed during the interview she is always trying to find the perfect balance when she is in partnerships.
“The dream is to have a balance where you feel you could relinquish control from time to time and still be taken care of,” she said. “It's about finding a relationship that has enough good stuff to outweigh the bad, because nobody's perfect, right?"
Despite the 18-year age gap, Jennifer and Casper have made a success of their relationship, despite reports back in October they were on the rocks.
But Casper was quick to dispel those rumours during an interview with Access Hollywood Live at the time.
“Everything is good. Last I was informed we were together,” he joked.
