Lance Bass advises Justin Bieber to surround himself with “good people”.

The former ‘N Sync star offered his advice following Justin’s arrest yesterday for allegedly driving under the influence and drag racing in Miami, Florida.

As a fellow child celebrity, Lance can understand the pressures of being famous at such a young age.

“As a teen star to another, surround yourself with good people,” Lance told Perez Hilton at a pre-Grammy party. “I had four of my best friends around me so they would easily knock me down to earth when they needed to.”

Lance found fame with ‘N Sync when he was 16 so he has experienced the highs and lows of celebrity firsthand.

And the 34-year-old believes it must be even more difficult when you are a solo performer like Justin.

“When you are a solo artist it’s a lot harder because you don’t have that many no people around you,” he explained to the website.

“You always have people saying, ‘Yeah sure that sounds like a good idea’, ‘cause they are scared to say no to you.
“[So] surround yourself with those people that will really tell you the truth.”

As well as acting and returning to singing, Lance also hosts a radio talk show and he revealed to E! News that Justin has been a topic of discussion for a long time.

Having followed Justin’s recent antics, he admitted he wasn’t surprised when he heard about the arrest.

“I was not surprised at all,” Lance said. “I host my own talk show on Sirius XM so we've been following the Biebs for quite a few months. The spiral down. So no, we called it a long time ago.”
