Rita Ora and Calvin Harris have supposedly called it quits.
The 23-year-old British singer and the Scottish music producer have been seeing each other for nine months.
But apparently their successful careers drove a wedge between them, as it is rumoured they have broken up.
“Rita and Calvin have split,” a source told British newspaper The Sun.
“It’s been tough for both of them but it’s been even harder for them to spend time together recently.
“He’s busy DJing and she’s working on her new album and shooting 50 Shades Of Grey.”
Rita’s profession is said to have rubbed Calvin, 29, the wrong way for multiple reasons.
It is claimed he doesn’t even want to date anyone in entertainment now that their affair is over.
“Calvin is more private when it comes to fame than Rita, which also played a part,” the insider explained.
“He’d be happy to meet someone who has nothing to do with the industry.”
There seems to be another indirect cause which led to the end their romance.
They celebrated the New Year together happily, but shortly afterwards it is rumoured they suffered a falling out.
“They had a bust-up so Rita went to a hotel just up from Calvin’s,” an insider noted.
Although Rita has yet to comment on the alleged breakup, it did seem as if she alluded to a split on her Instagram account.
The star posted an internet meme on Tuesday comprised of a sentence that appears to suggest she is dealing with heartbreak.
“Have you ever wondered which hurts the most: saying something and wishing you had not, or saying nothing and wishing you had.” the post read.
