One Direction will release two books this year.

The fab five will delight fans with the story of the band in an autobiography, and then towards the end of 2014 they'll release the One Direction: Official Annual 2015 with even more photos and behind-the-scenes stories.

Published by Harper Collins, insiders have excited fans by claiming they can learn even more about their favourite pop stars Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Liam Payne.

"[It will bring fans] even closer to the band by telling their story in the kind of depth we've not seen before," publishing director Natalie Jerome teased.

"It's a hugely exciting departure from the books we've published with them so far."

The autobiography will set fans back £20.

The books will ensure the British band are set for another explosive year, following their successful 2013.

They ended last year with the biggest selling album for Midnight Memories and competed a worldwide tour with Take Me Home which saw them travel to Europe, North America and Asia.

While the band continue to ride high, one of its members has got himself into a spot of bother.

Liam Payne was forced to apologise after posting a photo of himself standing dangerously on a roof ledge 360ft high.

"You may have seen a photo of me today taken on top of a building. I regret being there and having a photo taken.

"It was a stupid and irresponsible thing to do. I am sorry, and do not endorse any fans trying to repeat this, as it is extremely dangerous," he told his 15.2million followers.
