Carly Rae Jepsen will make her Broadway debut in Cinderella.
The New York Times reports the 28-year-old Call Me Maybe singer will take on the title role in the Rodgers & Hammerstein musical early next year.
Producers told the outlet on Sunday the pop star would enjoy a 12-week run in the show beginning February 4, 2014.
Carly will replace actress Laura Osnes, who has enjoyed the role for the last year.
She joins Fran Drescher, who has taken on the part of Cinderella"s evil stepmother.
The young star took to Twitter to share her excitement about joining the production at the weekend.
"I am going to be playing Cinderella on Broadway starting Feb. 4th!" Carly wrote, calling it a "dream come true".
In an official statement, Carly noted she had long wished to star in a musical on the Great White Way.
She recalled attending the Canadian College of Performing Arts after high school, when she began studying performances.
"My favorite part of the school year was our trip to New York, where we met Broadway performers and toured the theaters," Carly noted, adding she was particularly inspired by the story of rags-to-riches Cinderella.
"It"s so hopeful and inspiring. I"ve always been one to believe in the impossible, so I relate to her character completely," Carly explained.
As the Times reports, Carly is also working on a new album.
Her third release, a follow-up to last year"s Kiss, is tentatively scheduled to hit shelves next year.
