Ashley Tisdale is getting “dancier” by the moment.

The 28-year-old former High School Musical star released ballad You’re Always Here earlier this month, her first single since her second album Guilty Pleasure hit shelves in 2009.

And Ashley confesses the other songs she is writing currently sound nothing like her new tune.

"I'm still trying to find exactly where I want to go with that. I've been heading towards a specific direction and I think that's where I'm going to be," she told MTV News.

"It's obviously still pop and we've been playing with more dance pop. My last album was pop rock, so I definitely kind of have been more into the dancier type of pop songs. It's definitely heavily pop for sure."

Ashley isn’t stressing over composing new music at this time.

The star is simply enjoying the process of creating and she is happy to be back in the recording booth.

"I don't even know if I'm just going to do singles or do an album. It's really just me going into the studio and doing what I love," she said.

"I've been inspired to start doing music again. I've been really excited to be back in the studio and figuring out what that next sound is. But I definitely missed it and I'm having a lot of fun with it, so we will see."

Ashley got engaged to fiancé Christopher French in August after eight months of dating, but despite a whirlwind engagement, the couple are in no rush to pick a date for the wedding.

When asked about the scale of their future nuptial ceremony earlier this month, Ashley answered with no hesitation.

“Small,” she said during radio show On Air with Ryan Seacrest, “And as private as we can get it.”
