Selena Gomez supposedly wants “a minute to herself”.

The 21-year-old singer cancelled a string of concerts in Australia on Thursday.

And it is claimed she made the decision to call off the shows because she is currently at the brink of exhaustion.

"She's been on the road for six months and she's just ready to be normal and at home with her family," a source told People magazine.

"She's been working nonstop since she was 15 and wants to take a minute to herself."

Selena’s most recent Star Dance Tour, which saw her play 55 dates across the US and Europe, ended on November 26.

The stunning songstress is said to be overjoyed about having the opportunity to relax with loved ones over Christmastime.

"Selena is fine, she's in a great space," the insider said.

“She's looking forward to spending the holidays with her family."

Her recently cancelled Australian performances were due to kick off in February.

And Selena issued a statement of apology for displeasing her fans Down Under.

"My fans are so important to me and I would never want to disappoint them," she wrote in the press release.

"But it has become clear to me and those close to me that after many years of putting my work first, I need to spend some time on myself in order to be the best person I can be."
