Jay-Z was supposedly “strictly vegan” in Vegas.

The 44-year-old hip hop mogul recently announced he and wife Beyoncé Knowles are staying away from any food that comes from animals until Christmas Day.

Jay-Z performed a Magna Carta concert in Las Vegas Friday night and according to TMZ he “dined on strictly vegan options” at the classy after party.

E! News reports he linked up with about 85 friends at famous restaurant and nightclub Hakassan following his show.

And although guests like producer Timbaland dined on “crispy duck salad and roasted Chilean sea bass”, Jay-Z stayed true to his commitment.

Later in the night the musician and his friends reportedly toasted to the successful launch of his wife Beyoncé’s surprise album.

The 32-year-old singer released her self-titled fifth solo record on iTunes in the early hours of Friday morning along with 17 videos - one for each track plus three bonus promos. The shock LP is very much a family affair, as both husband Jay-Z and their 23-month-old daughter Blue Ivy make guest appearances in Beyoncé’s songs.

Jay-Z previously spoke about why he and Beyoncé decided to go vegan over much of the holiday season.

"On December 3rd, one day before my 44th birthday, I will embark on a 22 Days challenge to go completely vegan, or as I prefer to call it, plant-based!!” the hitmaker wrote on his Life and Times blog.

"Why now? There's something spiritual to me about it being my 44th birthday and the serendipity behind the number of days in this challenge; 22 (2+2=4) coupled with the fact that the challenge ends on Christmas day.It just feels right!

"So you can call it a spiritual and physical cleanse."
