Demi Lovato supports the Jonas Brothers’ decision to split.

The band announced they had officially called it quits last month, much to the shock of their fans, but Demi believes her pals made the right decision.

"I think everyone was surprised," she told E! News. "I don't think anyone was expecting it but they're off doing their own things and they're happy and I support them."

The X Factor judge said she still talks to Kevin, Nick and Joe on a regular basis. Demi considers the brothers family, and believes they will continue to be successful.

"They're brothers to me and I've gone through so much with them," Demi said.

Joe and Nick Jonas recently performed together one last time at the Telehit Awards Concert in Mexico City.

According to E! News, Kevin was absent because he was "focusing on business ventures”.

"As announced earlier, the band is no longer together," a source said. "However, the guys had made a commitment to Telehit and wanted to keep that commitment."

Nick admitted the thought of it being their last performance together was scary, but it didn’t faze him. He insisted he was looking forward to being on stage with his brother.

"It's a lot of pressure," Nick told E! "We actually didn't know that until just a couple of minutes ago. We were actually surprised by that. But it'll be great."
