Chris Brown told his cash-strapped fans not to buy his music if they can’t afford it.
The 24-year-old singer also expressed his love for his loyal fans, and wasn’t shy in telling the 13.1million followers he has on Twitter.
Chris’ next album X is scheduled for release next month and will be his sixth studio album. He’s already had commercial success with the songs that have been released from the record.
“Music is a want… Not a necessity. If u are living paycheck to paycheck then I don’t want you to buy my album. It’s not fair. Love y’all (sic),” he tweeted.
Rumours yesterday surfaced that Chris and former rival Drake may team up for a new project.
Earlier this month 26-year-old Drake posted a photo of the pair in a recording studio fuelling reports they had put their differences aside and were ready to work together.
"Make no mistake, that’s going to happen [a collaboration]. It will, but in time. Both of them like the element of surprise.
“Chris is trying to get X out and Drake’s enjoying the success of his new album sales,” a friend close to both of them explained to the HollywoodLife website.
The two recording artists were famously involved in a bottle brawl in 2012, and it was also widely reported that they argued over Rihanna, who both previously dated.
Chris was arrested following a physical fight with his then girlfriend Rihanna in 2009.
After a fight between the couple at a pre-Grammy party, 25-year-old Rihanna released photos of her battered and bruised face.
