Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth have reportedly ended their engagement.

The couple’s relationship has been rumoured to be on the rocks for quite some time and both of their representatives have allegedly confirmed their decision not to get married at this time.

America’s People magazine reports its editors have received an exclusive statement the 20-year-old singer and 23-year-old actor have decided not to walk down the aisle.

No official comment was provided from either camp.

The announcement comes after Miley unfollowed her fiancé on Twitter over the weekend.

It is not known whether the duo, who met on the set of their 2010 movie The Last Song, have split entirely.
Liam put a 3.5-carat Neil Lane ring on Miley’s finger in May 2012.

At the time the former Disney star expressed her delight their relationship was moving forward, sharing: "I'm so happy to be engaged and look forward to a life of happiness with Liam."

Rumours surfaced the couple had postponed the nuptials in April after Miley’s ring finger remained bare in a number of snaps.

However, the couple put on a united front in August when the American pop star attended her Australian beau’s Paranoia film premiere.

They also spent time together in Toronto, Canada while Liam filmed Cut Bank and Miley took the opportunity to parade her bling.

The Wrecking Ball hitmaker is busy promoting her album Bangerz while Liam gets ready to promote the latest Hunger Games franchise flick Catching Fire.

Speaking to the October issue of America’s Harper’s Bazaar magazine, Miley addressed her pending wedding with Liam.

When asked in the interview, undertaken before the news of their split, about their big day she replied: "I definitely don't have time to deal with a wedding right now. But I will at some point."
