Nas has “much love” for Miley Cyrus.
The rapper, who divorced singer Kelis in 2010 after five years of marriage, admits he didn’t know who the 20-year-old star was until recently.
After becoming aware of her controversial antics and collaborations with his fellow hip-hip artists, the Illmatic lyricist wants only good things for her.
"I just recently heard of her," he told E! News. "I don't know her, but God bless her, whoever she is. Much love to you!"
Miley has become known in recent months for delivering provocative performances, including stripping down to flesh-toned underwear and “twerking” at the MTV Video Music Awards last month.
The former Hannah Montana star garnered further controversy with the recent release of the music video for her new track Wrecking Ball, in which she appears naked while swinging on the construction apparatus.
Miley has been promoting her forthcoming album, Bangerz, in Europe over the last week and the LP includes collaborations with Britney Spears, Nelly and Big Sean.
However 39-year-old Nas was not keen to share details of his own LP a follow-up to 2012's Life Is Good.
"I might not even announce the date it's gonna drop till the day before it happens," he explained. "This comes from the street. This is about life. So do what you want to do. Do it your way."
The 13-time Grammy nominee enjoyed a birthday bash on Thursday to acknowledge turning 40 on Saturday.
He had an intimate dinner and exclusive after party with his closest friends and family at New York’s Avenue hotspot, where pals Mariah Carey, Jermaine Dupri, Olivia Munn, Estelle and Tyson Beckford were present.
Nas shared a photo of the celebrations on Instagram.
“Night 1!!!! My 40th Anniversary,” he wrote.
