Joseph Gordon-Levitt thinks Lady Gaga is a “great actress”.
The actor stars in Sin City: A Dame To Kill For with the songstress and he was surprised at her acting talent.
“Lady Gaga is in a scene in it, and I gotta say she did a really good job, like she’s a great actress. And I didn’t know that!” Joseph told radio station Jam’n 94.5.
The former 3rd Rock From The Sun star knew that bosses wanted to get a big name in to broaden the potential appeal to audiences.
However he didn’t have high expectations for the eccentric singer.
“You know she came in and I was like ‘OK sure, they’re having a huge pop star do a scene in the movie, I understand.’ But then she came in and like, nailed it!” he admitted. “She had her character down, and she was like a total pro, and did a great job, I was really impressed.”
Joseph has recently directed his first movie titled Don Jon.
He hopes the flick, starring Julianne Moore, will encourage people to have "lots of beautiful sex".
The motion picture, which he appears in and also wrote, is about a man who becomes so engrossed in pornography that his expectations of a real relationship are skewed.
Scarlett Johansson portrays Don's love interest Barbara but she has her own problems because she is obsessed with romantic comedies.
"We have these expectations, whether we've learned it from our friends and families or from church, or from movies, or from porn," he told the latest edition of Empire magazine. "We have this... checklist of life and love: if folks become aware of that and maybe can laugh at it, and then just go home and have lots of beautiful sex - that's what I hope for."
