Kelly Clarkson has denied being pregnant.

The original American Idol winner revealed on Wednesday she and her music manager fiancé Brandon Blackstock are planning to elope.

Speculation immediately arose that she is running away to marry because she is pregnant and the star says this simply isn’t true.

“FYI ....Brandon & I are getting married & no I am not pregnant,” she posted on Twitter. “We are eloping for one reason only. We both want an intimate ceremony.”

The 31-year-old was originally due to tie the knot at her Nashville, Tennessee home in October.

But now plans have changed as the couple are too tired to plan a huge ceremony.

“We are so busy that we finally just came to terms the other night and were like, 'So, we change our minds and we want to elope.' We just got so overwhelmed by it – all the decisions,” she told People magazine.

"Then honestly the planning – I have a Christmas record coming out.”

Kelly and Brandon have decided that throwing a massive bash to celebrate their union isn’t necessary.
The bride-to-be believes everything they do together is a festive experience.

"Our whole life is a celebration," Kelly gushed. "That's what we kept laughing about. We don't need another day where we throw a big party. Our lives are so in the spotlight all the time. Everything is such a spectacle, we were like, 'We would rather have an intimate moment that's special.' "

Kelly’s forthcoming Christmas album Wrapped in Red is released at the end of October.
