Britney Spears is reportedly “bored” of dating David Lucado.
The Toxic singer began seeing the 27-year-old legal field researcher shortly after ending her engagement to former agent Jason Trawick earlier this year.
According to America’s Star magazine, David is absolutely smitten with the star.
The feelings don’t appear to be mutual, however.
"David is so in love with Britney, but he sees her growing more and more distant and is beginning to realise she doesn't feel the same way,” an insider said.
Britney has been involved in a string of tumultuous relationships.
Before her engagement to Jason ended in January, Britney briefly dated paparazzo Adnan Ghalib.
Her three-year marriage to Kevin Federline ended in 2007 and the couple share custody of their two boys.
Britney apparently wanted to break the pattern and saw something promising in David’s laidback nature.
However, their romance now seems to have fizzled.
"Since those relationships fell through, she thought she needed a nice guy,” the insider explained.
“That's why she started dating David, but she obviously doesn't care. She never tries to impress him."
According to the source, Britney has a deep-seated fear of loneliness.
It seems as though the star might just be holding out until she finds something better.
"David would be with her forever, if he could. But it's tricky, because while she really likes the feeling of having someone there, she's bored,” the source said.
Britney has yet to publicly comment on the report.
