Editors follow Top 10 album success for their latest album across Europe with a new single taken from ‘The Weight Of Your Love’ on 2nd September.

‘Formaldehyde’ is fast becoming a live favourite and has been described by lead singer Tom Smith as “a love song. A sugar coated, dissected heart in a jar, blood soaked love song."

‘The Weight Of Your Love’ followed a four year period of turmoil for the band, parting with founding member Chris Urbanowicz and thinking hard about what Editors should be from that point forward. With the album scoring Number One’s in Holland and Belgium and Top 10 positions across much of Europe, including a fourth consecutive Top Ten album for the band in the UK, the return of Editors has been both an artistic and a commercial triumph. As MOJO stated in their review of ‘The Weight Of Your Love’, the album sees Tom ‘mature into a truly commanding frontman’, whilst HEAT magazine proved the band had not lost their ability to connect with the mainstream simultaneously in making ‘Formaldehyde’ their favourite track and noting that ‘after only a few listens, it was stuck in our head for ages’.

With the band gracing their own special supplement of Belgium’s De Morgen newspaper for the album release and gracing the cover of The Sun’s Something For The Weekend in the UK on the same week, Editors have joined a select band of artists who can claim to be truly internationally renowned. Their return to the live arena in the UK at Glastonbury’s Other Stage further cemented that fact, with the televised set drawing one of the biggest crowds of the weekend to the stage.

‘Formaldehyde’ is released on September 2nd on 7” and digital bundle. Both formats feature the tracks ‘Formaldehyde’ and an acoustic version of ‘A Ton Of Love’.
